PITCH TV BUYERS TOUR FAQs
Q: How do I find out if my show is ready to pitch at a conference?
A: You’re welcome to schedule a complimentary strategy session with Jeanne Simon, co-founder of Sell Your TV Concept Now, to talk through what you’ve done so far on your show and the steps you’ll need to take to get it ready to pitch. Call Jeanne at 678-718-5133 or email her at team@sellyourtvconceptnow.com to set up your complimentary strategy session.
Q: Should I go on the Pitch TV Buyers Tour if I’m not ready to pitch my show and I just want to find out how the conferences work and make connections?
A: YES! The Tour is for you if you want to maximize your conference investment. On the Tour you’ll make priceless connections with top network and production company execs at private meetings we host. Plus, you’ll gain insider knowledge on how to pitch when you’re ready, what you’ll need in your pitch package, and how to get meetings with the network execs you want to target….plus much more.
Q :Does Sell Your TV Concept Now act as my agent?
A: No we are not agents. We do not pitch shows for others because we know show creators are absolutely the best people to pitch their shows. Only you have the passion for your show that it takes to get a buyer interested. Plus, agents work on commission and get a percentage of your earnings. When you work with us you retain 100% ownership of your show and your earnings.
Q: I’ve heard you have to have a pilot. How do I find out what I need to pitch my show?
A: First of all – YOU DO NOT NEED TO PRODUCE A PILOT. It is a very expensive waste of time and money. You’re welcome to schedule a complimentary strategy session with Jeanne Simon, co-founder of Sell Your TV Concept Now, to find out exactly what you need to pitch your show. Call Jeanne at 678-718-5133 or email her at team@sellyourtvconceptnow.com to set up your complimentary strategy session.
Q: How many people do you take on the Pitch TV Buyers Tour?
A: We limit the number to twenty attendees per conference to ensure you get the time and attention you need from your on-site Pitch TV Buyers Tour mentor.
Q: How do I pitch more than one show?
A: One at a time. (Ha…bet you already knew that!) We go over pitching multiple shows to the same buyer in the Pitch TV Buyers Tour training. It not only can be done (even in a speed pitch) we recommend pitching two or more shows to a conference to further maximize your investment.
Q: How many shows can I work on in the Pitch TV Buyers Tour?
A: You may work on one show. In other words, you’ll submit the same show for both material reviews. You may purchase additional material reviews for your other shows.
Q: Do you ever partner with people for a percentage of a deal?
A: No, we do not partner with you because it is not in your best interest. We want you to own 100% of your show and keep any deals you make with a network as simple as possible. Complicated partnerships scare off networks for fear of possible lawsuits or issues between partners.
Q: What if I’m very confident about my TV concept, but I have no idea what to say in a pitch?
A: A big part of Pitch TV Buyers Tour training is about how to have a successful pitch meeting: the flow of a pitch meeting, what execs expect of you, the right terminology to use, developing a powerful pitch mindset, and what to say exactly in your pitch. The last virtual training session is entirely devoted to pitch practice for our members. When you work with us you will know what to say in your pitch.
Q: I’ve heard conferences are a waste of time because no real decision makers attend…Is that true?
A: Chris Linn, president of truTV, would be shocked to hear that along with all of the other senior level network execs who make it a priority to go to multiple conferences every year. They and their teams go to conferences to take pitches from people like you, network with their peers, finalize deals, and to stay on top of the latest trends in the TV biz.
Q: How do I get pitch meetings at conferences?
A: Most conferences have speed pitching sessions you sign up for once you’re registered and when you’re part of our Pitch TV Buyers Tour you’ll make priceless connections with top network and production company execs at private meetings we host. You’ll definitely want to take advantage of our FAST-ACTING BONUS to gain access to a closed door session we have the night before each conference. You’ll get to practice your pitch and get feedback from top network and production company execs.
Q: Can I pay you to pitch my show?
A: No. We do not pitch shows for others because we know show creators are absolutely the best people to pitch their shows. Only you have the passion for your show that it takes to get a buyer interested.
Q: Is the registration fee for the conference included in the fee for the Pitch TV Buyers Tour?
A: You pay separately for the conference registration fee and all travel expenses. They are not included in the Pitch TV Buyers Tour fee.
