Leaving for MIPCOM

Published by Mark under Misc, Opinion

It’s 3:45 in the morning before we leave for MIPCOM in France. I get an email from a print vendor for our LA Showbiz Expo event saying the print files we sent him are the wrong size. When I check my original files, they are perfect. Why does this sort of thing happen right before I leave the country?

Fox Animation Mostly MacFarlane

Published by Mark under Opinion, TV Business

Fox Network premiered 2 hours of TV animated series on Sunday. 3 of the 4 shows are executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad. These draw big numbers, but there seems to be almost as many people who hate them.

Post here what you do and don’t like about MacFarlane’s animated shows.

Ashton Kutcher’s Latest Show Cancelled

Published by Mark under TV Business

Even power producer Ashton Kutcher has shows cancelled on him. His latest, The Beautiful Life, a scripted drama. It only aired 2 episodes on the CW. Never heard of it? That’s probably one of the reasons it was cancelled. Only 1 million people saw the 2 episodes. They were in the middle of shooting their 7th episode when it was cancelled.

The good news? Now there’s another slot available for someone else to fill.
