Disney Buys Marvel

Published by Mark under Opinion, TV Business

Disney is buying Marvel for $4 billion. I love Disney and I love Marvel. I don’t know what I think about them being together. The Pixar partnership has been successful so hopefully Marvel won’t be Disney-fied.

Post what you think of this.

Reality Gone Too Far? – Death on a Series

Published by Mark under Misc, Opinion

When has reality TV gone too far? When the stunts are so outrageous that some dies. That just happened on a Pakistani reality show. A contestant was wearing a 15 lb backpack while swimming across a lake. He called for help and then disappeared under the water. Entertainment needs to be entertaining, not life-threatening.

Post here what reality shows and stunts you think have gone too far.

Pixar’s The Incredibles in 3D?

Published by Mark under Misc

I just read an article about some Disney/Pixar animated features screening in 3D stereoscopic at the 66th Venice Film Festival. Not only will they be screening Toy Story 1 and 2, which we all knew were coming out this fall in 3D, but they will also be screening Finding Nemo and The Incredibles in 3D. I will be the first in line to see The Incredibles in 3D!

A network called today

Published by Mark under Pitch Stories

A TV network executive I’ve been talking to called today about one of our shows which I pitched this summer. He wants numbers for running some of our shorts as bumpers on his shows. I asked an agent to help me determine those numbers. We’re working on them now.
