It was driving me crazy. I bitched about it around the house. But I got tired of hearing myself complain. Then I looked it up and discovered we were both right. Goober was on the Andy Griffith show longer than Gomer was, but Gomer got his own TV series, Gomer Pyle USMC.

Now Gomer is in the hospital. Not a good time to be a Pyle.

I’m talking about the NBC musical series. I’m completely hooked on it. Looking forward to tonight’s season finale.

But then I’m in for a loooong wait. NBC just announced their schedule for next year. Smash has been moved to a mid-season premiere. That means I’ve got to wait 8-9 months for new episodes.

Ugggh!

That sucks. But, at least it’s not as long of a wait as Madmen fans had to endure.

At least they’re not cancelling it. But, a network moving a show to midseason isn’t a great sign. It is, however, better than what NBC is doing to Community. Community is moving to Friday night. That’s the kiss of death for a series. Move a comedy to Friday night, ratings go down, reason to cancel the show without looking like the bad guy. Sorry, fans of Community. Well, at least Chevy Chase will be happy. It looks like he wants out.

We’ve both been on pins and needles whether the show would be cancelled because of its low ratings. A few weeks ago it was announced that, YES, it was renewed for one more short season. We thought it was because of the small, but very strong following.

Now I’m not so sure. I just found out about an interested connection between a series star and the head of Fox.

Anna Torv plays Olivia Dunham on the series. She’s great. But she’s also related to Rupert Murdoch.

Her aunt, also named Anna Torv, was married for 31 years to Billionaire mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Now I get why a life preserver was thrown to the series. Hey, I’m not mad about it. I’m glad it’s still on the air. In fact I can’t wait until the season finale tonight! Finally, an insider deal that works for the rest of us!

But, the unexpected winner of huge sales are Shawarma restaraunts. I just read that in Westwood, a Shawarma place sold-out of their food by 7:30, the first time ever!

If you haven’t seen the very last scene, after the end of the credits (you mean you didn’t stay through all 35,000 credits to the very end? How DARE you!), the Avengers are eating Shawarma together in a partially destroyed restaraunt. Tony Stark suggested it at the end of the battle. It’s a great little moment. A moment that is driving fan boys and their friends to eat Shawarma, many for the first time.

I think it’s great. Have you tried it or did the movie make you want to try it?

We just delivered a script, written by our amazing Wayne Carter, to a client that knocked my socks off.

We have been working with Dr Jesse Cole on developing a drama based on his concept. Wayne wrote the pilot script. It’s one of those scripts where I couldn’t wait to read the next page. It’s also the first one I can ever remember where Jeanne didn’t have any notes!

Wayne and Jesse’s script is sure to win many festivals and is sure to get the attention of industry readers.

Now we’re doing a polish on the treatment and script so we can start on the design of the whole package. I love it when it works!

You want endorphins? Hang with Dr J for a while. His life is an adventure, which is great because it’s the basis of a new project we’re doing with him.

On second thought, you may not want to travel with him. His adventures tend to get pretty hairy. Or burned. Or shot. Or…you get the idea.

Luckily he documents all his insanity so we have tons of material to work with.
