According to Cynopsis, Debmar-Mercury selected Alexandra Jewett for the position of SVP/Programming and Production. Alexandra will supervise all Debmar-Mercury programming emanating from the East Coast including The Wendy Williams Show and also will be involved in the development of all new projects. She will report to Lonnie Burstein, EVP/Programming and Production.

Client a finalist at Fox

Andrew Halnegenk’s pilot script for “Zoo U” has made him a finalist for the Fox Diversity Writers Initiative! In addition to helping him with his concept and pitch, our sister company Animatics & Storyboards, Inc also produced his presentation materials and character designs.

SpongeBob to the rescue

We just hired a writer from SpongeBob Squarepants to write the animated pilot script for one of our clients. We also hired WGA writer Wayne Carter to rewrite a feature script for another client. We are seeing a lot of great projects moving forward.

Having to wait an extra week to see HBO’s season finales of Entourage, Hung and True Blood is rough. I expect huge ratings this Sunday.

Discovery Gunman

A good friend of ours, Doug Stanly, producer of Deadliest Catch, recently hired a Discovery staffer for his new 3D company. She was at the Discovery offices when the gunman rushed in and took hostages. Luckily, she and the other people at Discovery are OK, but shaken.

Jeanne was watching the news while remembering her time in those offices when she was pitching and selling an Animal Planet series.

We’re glad everyone is OK.

Summit was Incredible!

We wrapped out Summit yesterday after 3 amazing days. We saw huge advances in every project. Plus, our speakers outdid themselves. Doug Stanley of Deadliest Catch was a favorite and his interview went on for over 90 minutes and he spent time with everyone at the event.

Thanks to everyone who was a part of it. You are all now our friends.
